Chef Michael Schwartz Cameos as Troy Gardens Helps At-Risk Youth

Troy Gardens is a great program in Miami that shows kids how to plant, grow, harvest, and sell fruits and vegetables.  A big hug and kiss to James Beard Award-winning Chef Michael Schwartz of Michael's Genuine, who has bought and prepared amazing dishes with the kids' own passionfruit and bananas!  Please watch this cool video shot and edited by the lovely and talented Alexandra Rangel.  And hats off to Ben Thacker who runs the horticultural program at Troy Academy.  If you are in Miami, please stop by a Hawaiian-themed event tonight, Saturday 2/26 at the legendary Miami Beach dive-bar, The Sandbar, for a fun evening and a great alternative to the South Beach Wine and Food Fest-and an easy way to help out all the great programs at Troy!  If you can't make it, please check out there website to see how you can help-by volunteering or donating to help urban at-risk youth.  Awesome!

Free Kitchen Renovation and Reality Superstardom Potential

As someone who appeared on 'Take Home Handyman', and was ultimately vaulted to Minor Celebrity Status, I am passing on to you this golden opportunity to do as I did: to make an ass of yourself in front of millions.  And get a free kitchen renovation for your 'friends'.  The production company, which is casting in Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, as well as other cities, passed the info to me, just for you, loyal readers.  One word of advice-when they do the big reveal, don't start sobbing.  Got some friends you'd like to embarrass?  Check out the flyer above-and if you win, you owe me dinner.
